Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel and EVAP pipes (1).
  2. Perform the following procedures if equipped with auxiliary rear air and heat.
    1. Move the rear heater and A/C pipes into their original position.
    2. Connect the rear heater and A/C pipes to the rear HVAC module. Refer to HVAC Module Replacement - Auxiliary in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  3. Connect the fuel feed and EVAP pipes to the fuel tank. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
  4. Install the engine and transmission as an assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  5. Remove the caps from the fuel pipes.

  7. Connect the engine fuel feed pipe (3) to the fuel rail (1). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  8. Connect the EVAP pipe (5) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (4). Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
  9. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
    1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
