Generator Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) ()Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) ().




2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LZ4) ()Generator Replacement (LY7) ().




5. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
6. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.




9. Remove the generator bracket bolts.
10. Remove the generator bracket.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the generator bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

2. Install the generator bracket bolts.

Tighten the bolts in sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).





3. Install the drive belt tensioner.
4. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

5. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
6. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).





7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LZ4) ()Generator Replacement (LY7) ().
8. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
9. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) ()Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) ().
