Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Install the steering linkage outer tie rod the same number of full rotations counted when removing.
  1. Install the steering linkage outer tie rod (5) to the steering linkage inner tie rod (1). Do not tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod nut.
  2. Install the steering linkage outer tie rod (5) to the steering knuckle (4).
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the steering linkage outer tie rod nut (3) to the steering linkage outer tie rod (5) and tighten to 30 N.m (22 lb ft) plus an additional 115 degrees.
  4. Tighten the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (2).
  5. Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Adjust the wheel toe. Refer to Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment .
