HVAC Module Assembly Replacement

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedure Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) . Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging . Remove the evaporator tube from the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement . Remove the heater hoses from the heater core. Refer to Heater Hoses Replacement . Remove the brake pedal bracket assembly. Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement . Pull back and reposition the carpet. Remove the lower instrument panel (I/P) support brace. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement . Reposition the auxiliary air distribution duct. Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Duct Replacement . Remove the instrument panel carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement . Disconnect the HVAC module assembly electrical connectors.
1	HVAC Module Assembly Nut (Qty: 5) Tip: Tighten the nuts in sequence. Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)

Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedure

Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
Remove the evaporator tube from the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement .
Remove the heater hoses from the heater core. Refer to Heater Hoses Replacement .
Remove the brake pedal bracket assembly. Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement .
Pull back and reposition the carpet.
Remove the lower instrument panel (I/P) support brace. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement .
Reposition the auxiliary air distribution duct. Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Duct Replacement .
Remove the instrument panel carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .
Disconnect the HVAC module assembly electrical connectors.

HVAC Module Assembly Nut (Qty: 5)
Tip: Tighten the nuts in sequence.

Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
