Inspection Procedure
- CHOOSE DIAGNOSIS METHOD

A: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Choose the diagnosis method.
- READ VALUE ON INTELLIGENT TESTER
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
- Select the item below in the "DATA LIST", and read the display on the intelligent tester.
ECM (Cruise Control)
DATA LISTItem Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note CCS INDICATOR M Cruise Indicator signal (Main CPU) ON or OFF ON: "CRUISE" ON
OFF: "CRUISE" OFF- OK: When the cruise control main switch is operated, the display changes as shown above.
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECM - BATTERY)
- Disconnect the E5 connector from the ECM.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage

ON --> OFF
(Cruise control main switch ON --> OFF)Below 1 V --> 10 to 14 V

NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the C6 combination meter connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFCIATIONSTester Connection Condition Specified Condition C6-4 - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V C6-4 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER-BATTERY)
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COMBINATION METER - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
WIRE HARNESS STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSTester Connection Condition Specified Condition C6-34 - E5-18 (PI) Always Below 1 Ω E5-18 (PI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher C6-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
