Fuel Tank: Installation: Installation

1. Install the 3 No. 2 fuel tank cushions to the fuel tank assembly.

1. Engage the hose clamp and install the fuel tank vent hose to the fuel tank assembly.
2. Engage the hose clamp and install the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly to the fuel tank assembly.
3. Clean the bolt hole and remove any grease.
4. Install the fuel tank assembly to the vehicle with 4 new bolts.

   Torque: 14 N*m (146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

1. Connect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose to the fuel tank assembly and tighten the hose clamp.

1. Align the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector with the fuel tank filler pipe sub-assembly, push the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector in until the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector retainer makes a click sound, then lock the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector cover of the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector.

   NOTE:

   • Check that there are no scratches or foreign matter on the disconnected parts of the fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector and fuel tank filler pipe sub-assembly before performing this work.
   • After connecting, pull the fuel tank filler pipe sub-assembly and fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly connector to make sure that they are securely connected.

1. Connect the fuel tank vent hose to the charcoal canister assembly and lock it by pushing in the fuel tank vent hose retainer.

   NOTE:

   • Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects on the connecting part.
   • Check that the fuel tank vent hose is inserted securely.
   • After installing the fuel tank vent hose retainer, check that the fuel tank vent hose is securely connected by pulling on it.

   HINT: 

   • Insert the inlet tube until a "click" sound is heard.
   • The quick connector cannot be locked when the tube is not inserted securely.

1. Align the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly connector with the fuel main tube, push the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly connector in until the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly connector retainer makes a click sound, then lock the cover of the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly connector.

   NOTE:

   • After connecting, pull the fuel main tube and fuel tank main tube sub-assembly connector to make sure that they are securely connected.

1. Install the fuel tank cover case sub-assembly to the vehicle with the bolt and clip.

   Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

1. Install the No. 4 front floor heat insulator to the vehicle with the 2 nuts.

   Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
