Location 

The radio is located in the center console.

Tasks 

The radio has the following tasks:

Central operating unit for entertainment and communication systems integrated into vehicle 

The radio provides the user with a structured and uniform user interface for the entertainment and communication systems in the vehicle:

Reading in of input signals as well as actuation of output media and system components 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Direct line 

The radio is equipped with the following direct connections:

Telematics CAN 

The radio is a telematics CAN subscriber. The radio reads in the signals for the following control units via telematics CAN:

Connection and control of a smartphone with the smart audio system via "smart cross connect" (vehicles with code C67 (Smartphone bracket)) 

In combination with the smartphone bracket, which can be fixed centrally on the radio and adjusted with regard to size, a smartphone can be connected to the smart audio system and controlled via Bluetooth.

The following functions are also possible with the "smart cross connect app":

Function 

The status of the buttons is read in at the radio and made available to the central computer. Button actuations are further processed in the central computer and sent directly or as messages via the telematics CAN to the other system components.

If the "ON" button (1) on the radio is pressed, the radio switches on. The volume is regulated by turning the "ON" button (1).
