Resetting Check-Engine Lamp

The Check-Engine Lamp will illuminate when the ignition switch is in the On position. The lamp should go off shortly after the car is started. If the lamp remains on, the self-diagnosis system has detected a problem and stored a code. After diagnosis and repair (see FUEL INJECTION, COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS & COMPONENT LOCATOR) the self-diagnosis system will automatically erase any stored codes.
