Hydraulic System Pressure Test

  1. Check fluid level. Disconnect high pressure line at pump. Connect Pressure Gauge (925711000) between shut-off valve and pump. See Fig 1 . Open shut-off valve.

  2. Check fluid level. Start engine and turn steering wheel from lock-to-lock several times to expel air from system.
    NOTE: Do not hold at lock position or with shut-off valve closed for more than 5 seconds.
  3. With shut-off valve open check system pressure. Pressure should be 142 psi (10 kg/cm2 ) or less. Close shut-off valve and check pump relief pressure. Pressure should be 853-1067 psi (60-75 kg/cm2 ).
  4. With shut-off valve open, turn steering wheel left-to-right to check working pressure. Pressure should be 853-1067 psi (60-75 kg/cm2 ).
