Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The atmospheric pressure sensor acts as an electronic barometer. This sensor's signal is used by the ECU to make air/fuel compensation based on altitude requirements.

LOCATION
The sensor is permanently built into the ECU unit.

OPERATION
When the ignition is in the ON position, the sensor sends a signal to the ECU. A voltage signal is generated by the sensor based on atmospheric pressure, and sent to the ECU.
