Description & Operation: Notes

Throttle plate position is controlled by vacuum-powered actuator assembly located in engine compartment. Valve assembly consists of a vacuum valve, vent valve and safety valve. See Fig 1 . See ELECTRICAL COMPONENT LOCATIONS table. Based on inputs from system components, cruise control unit sends signals to solenoid-operated valves in valve assembly.

Speed cannot be set if vehicle speed is less than 25 MPH. Control unit disengages system if engine speed is 6000 RPM or greater, or if control unit receives a signal indicating one or more of following conditions exist:
