Test 4: Outlet Solenoid Valve Circuit Problem

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS hydraulic unit harness connector. Measure resistance between hydraulic unit terminals. See CHECKING SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT RESISTANCE table. See Figure . Resistance should be about 3-5 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace hydraulic unit.
    CHECKING SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT RESISTANCE

    DTC Terminals No.
    32 7 & 9
    34 8 & 10
    36 5 & 10
    38 6 & 9
  2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal at hydraulic unit. See CHECKING SOLENOID VALVE FOR SHORT table. See Figure . Resistance should be infinite. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace hydraulic unit.
    CHECKING SOLENOID VALVE FOR SHORT

    DTC Terminals No.
    32 7
    34 8
    36 5
    38 6
  3. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit connectors. Measure resistance between ground and terminal at ABS/TCS control unit harness connector. See ABS/TCS CONTROL UNIT CIRCUITS table. If resistance is infinite, go to next step. If resistance is not infinite, repair wiring harness as necessary.
    ABS/TCS CONTROL UNIT CIRCUITS

    DTC Terminals No.
    32 (1) 3
    34 (2) 1
    36 (2) 3
    38 (1) 8
    (1) Terminals are located in ABS/TCS control unit 8-pin harness connector.
    (2) Terminals are located in ABS/TCS control unit 6-pin harness connector.
  4. Reconnect hydraulic unit connector. Ensure ABS/TCS connectors are disconnected. Measure resistance between terminal No. 6 at ABS/TCS connector 16-pin connector and ABS/TCS control unit 6-pin and 8-pin connectors as specified. See ABS/TCS CONTROL UNIT CIRCUITS  . See Figure . If resistance is 5-7 ohms, replace ABS/TCS control unit. If resistance is not 5-7 ohms, repair wiring harness as necessary.
