Stall Speed Test: Notes

CAUTION: DO NOT hold throttle open longer than 5 seconds to obtain steady gauge reading. After each stall test, move shift selector lever to "N" position and allow engine to idle lower than 1200 RPM for one minute minimum to cool engine and transaxle. If engine speed exceeds limits shown in STALL SPEED TEST SPECIFICATIONS  table, release accelerator immediately as clutch or band slippage is indicated.
NOTE: Prior to testing, ensure throttle valve opens fully, engine oil, ATF, differential oil and coolant level is correct and ensure ATF temperature is at operating temperature; 140-176°F (60-80°C).
