Connect connector AB6 to test harness "I" (98299FC040) or I2 (98299FC041), connector 1I. See Figure or Figure . Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and test harness "I" or I2, connector 2I, terminal No. 3. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace air bag control module. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off and disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 20 seconds. Disconnect connector AB1 from body wiring harness connector B31. See Figure. Connect test harness "M" (98299FE020), connector 2M to connector AB1. See Figure. Measure resistance between test harness "M", connector 5M, terminal No. 2 and test harness "I" or I2, connector 2I, terminal No. 3. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace body harness with air bag main harness.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and test harness "M", connector 5M, terminal No. 2. Measure resistance between ground and test harness "I" or I2, connector 2I, terminal No. 3. If resistance is more than one megohm, go to next step. If resistance is less than one megohm, replace body harness with air bag main harness.
  4. Remove and visually inspect fuse No. 11 located in fuse block under left side of instrument panel. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. If fuse blows again, Repair short to ground in body harness. If fuse is okay repair open in body harness.
