Intake Manifold: Removal
- Release the fuel pressure. <Ref. to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE PROCEDURE, FUEL. >
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Open the fuel filler flap lid, and remove the fuel filler cap.
- Remove the collector cover.
- Lift-up the vehicle.
- Remove the under cover.
- Drain the coolant about 3.0 l (3.2 US qt, 2.6 Imp qt).
- Remove the air cleaner upper cover and air intake boot. <Ref. to REMOVAL Air Cleaner Case. >
- Remove the air cleaner element.
- Remove the intercooler. <Ref. to REMOVAL Intercooler.>
- Remove the coolant filler tank.

- Remove the power steering pump.
- Remove the front side of the V-belts. <Ref. to REMOVAL V-belt.>
- Disconnect the power steering switch connector.
- Remove the bolts which install the power steering pipe bracket to the intake manifold.NOTE: Do not disconnect the power steering hose.
- Remove the bolts, which install power steering pump bracket.
- Remove the reservoir tank from the bracket by pulling it upward.
- Place the power steering pump on the right side wheel apron.
- Disconnect the emission hose (A) and the connector (B) from the PCV hose assembly.
- Disconnect the engine coolant hose from throttle body.
- Disconnect the brake booster hose.
- Disconnect the pressure hose from the intake duct.
- Disconnect the engine harness connectors from the bulk head harness connector.
- Disconnect the connectors from the engine coolant temperature sensor (A), oil pressure switch (B) and crankshaft position sensor (C).
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
- Disconnect the connector from camshaft position sensor.
- Disconnect the connector from ignition coil.

- Disconnect the engine harness fixed by clip (A) from the bracket.
- RH side
- LH side
- Using the ST to disconnect the fuel hose from each fuel pipe. <Ref. to
REMOVAL FUEL DELIVERY, RETURN AND EVAPORATION LINES.>CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Catch the fuel from hoses using a container or cloth.
ST 42099AE000 CONNECTOR REMOVER
- Remove the bolts which hold intake manifold onto the cylinder heads.
- Remove the intake manifold.
