2.5 L (Non-Turbo) Model

Protect the radiator with cardboard and blanket.
Remove the V-belt covers.

Remove the V-belts. < Ref. to V-BELT . >
Remove the A/C compressor V-belt tensioner.
Use the ST to lock the crankshaft, and remove the pulley bolt.

Remove the crank pulley.
Remove the belt cover (LH).
Remove the front timing belt cover.
Remove the timing belt guide. (MT model)

If the alignment mark (a) or arrow mark (which indicates rotation direction) on the timing belt has faded away, put new marks on the belt before removing as shown in procedures below.
1. Use the ST to turn crankshaft. Align the mark (a) of sprocket to the cylinder block notch (b), and then ensure the right side cam sprocket mark (c), cam cap and cylinder head matching surface (d) or left side cam sprocket mark (e), timing belt cover notch (f) are properly adjusted.

Remove the belt idler.
Remove the belt idler (No. 2).

Remove the timing belt.
Remove the automatic belt tension adjuster assembly.
