Combination Meter System: Inspection: Switch

Illumination intensity does not change even when the illumination control switch is operated.

DIAGNOSTICS PROCEDURE

Step	Check	Yes	No
1 CHECK CURRENT DATA. Display the data of «Bright switch input state» and «Illumination control switch input state» using the Subaru Select Monitor. NOTE: For detailed procedures, refer to "PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor".	Do the display switch between OFF ←→ ON and the value range from 0 to 100 when the bright switch and illumination control switch are operated?	Replace the combination meter.	Go to step 2.
2 CHECK ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH UNIT. Check the illumination control switch. <Ref. to ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH , INSPECTION, Switches and Harness.>	Is the switch normal?	Go to step 3.	Replace the illumination control switch.
3 CHECK HARNESS. Disconnect the connectors of combination meter assembly and illumination control switch. Measure the resistance between the combination meter assembly and the illumination control switch. Connector & terminal (i10) No. 29 - (i79) No. 6: (i10) No. 30 - (i79) No. 5: (i10) No. 31 - (i79) No. 4: (i10) No. 32 - (i79) No. 1:	Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?	Replace the combination meter.	Repair or replace the harness.
