Combination Meter System: Inspection: Switch

Illumination intensity does not change even when the illumination control switch is operated. 

DIAGNOSTICS PROCEDURE

Step Check Yes No
1 CHECK CURRENT DATA. 
Display the data of «Bright switch input state» and «Illumination control switch input state» using the Subaru Select Monitor.
NOTE: For detailed procedures, refer to "PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor".
Do the display switch between OFF ←→ ON and the value range from 0 to 100 when the bright switch and illumination control switch are operated? Replace the combination meter. Go to step 2. 
2 CHECK ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH UNIT. 
Check the illumination control switch. <Ref. to ILLUMINATION CONTROL SWITCH , INSPECTION, Switches and Harness.>
Is the switch normal? Go to step 3.  Replace the illumination control switch.
3 CHECK HARNESS. 
  1. Disconnect the connectors of combination meter assembly and illumination control switch.
  2. Measure the resistance between the combination meter assembly and the illumination control switch.

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω? Replace the combination meter. Repair or replace the harness.
