Section 12 (Engine Cooling System (H6DO)): Radiator: Removal

CAUTION:
The radiator is pressurized when the engine and radiator are hot. Wait until engine and radiator cool down before working on the radiator.
- Remove the collector cover.
- Carefully pull up the rear of collector cover at two positions (A).
- Carefully pull up the front of collector cover at two positions (B) while moving it forward.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to
BATTERYNOTE: Repair Contents.
- Remove the air intake duct. Ref. to REMOVAL , Air Intake Duct.
- Remove the front bumper. Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Bumper.
- Remove the grille bracket.NOTE: Remove six clips when removing the grille bracket.
- Drain engine coolant. Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant.
- Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from thermostat cover.
- Disconnect the CVTF radiator inlet hose and CVTF radiator outlet hose from the CVTF cooler pipe assembly.NOTE: Plug the CVTF cooler pipe assembly to prevent CVTF from leaking.
- Remove the CVTF radiator inlet hose and CVTF radiator outlet hose from the clips of the radiator fan shroud.
- Disconnect the connector (A) and connector (B) from the radiator fan harness.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the reservoir tank. Ref. to REMOVAL , Reservoir Tank.
- Disconnect the radiator inlet hose LH and RH.
- Remove the radiator upper bracket LH and RH.
- Using the ST, remove the bolts securing the condenser lower bracket to the radiator.
ST 73099SG000 SPECIAL TOOL CONDENSER
- Remove the bolts securing the condenser bracket, and remove the condenser lower bracket.NOTE: This procedure is required to prevent the lower gasket from being damaged when removing the radiator.
- Remove the bolts securing the condenser upper bracket to the radiator.
- Secure the condenser to the vehicle using ropes or other means.NOTE: This procedure is required to prevent the condenser from dropping off and also the air conditioner pipes from being damaged.
- Remove the radiator from vehicle.
- Remove the radiator lower cushion from the vehicle body.
