DTC B2608: Seat SW Failure

DTC detecting condition: 

When the seat switch input other than the lumbar switch is detected as ON on both directions

Trouble symptom: 

Seat operation does not start or stop immediately in manual operation.

Wiring diagram: 

Power seat system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>Power Seat System>WIRING DIAGRAM .

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Read the DTC of [Power Seat Memory] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .

    Is DTC B2608 displayed? (Current malfunction)

    Yes  :

    Go to  2.

    No  :

    Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time.

    Reproduce the failure, and perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
  2. CHECK POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Power Seat Memory]. Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

    • Slide SW
    • Reclining SW.
    • Lifter SW
    • Tilt SW

    Is [Abnormal] displayed in any of the SW statuses?

    Yes  :

    Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .

    No  :

    Go to  3.

  3. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Power Seat Memory]. Ref. to COMMON (diag)>CLEAR MEMORY .
    2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    3. Disconnect, and then connect the power seat control module connector.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Move each axis using the power seat manual switch.
    6. Read the DTC of [Power Seat Memory] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to POWER SEAT MEMORY (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .

    Is DTC B2608 displayed? (Current malfunction)

    Yes  :

    Go to  4.

    No  :

    Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time.

    Reproduce the failure, and perform the diagnosis again.

  4. CHECK HARNESS (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT)  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the connector of power seat control module.
    3. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
    4. Using the tester, measure the resistance between power seat control module connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (R156) No. 9 - Chassis ground:

    Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

    Yes  :

    Go to  5.

    No  :

    Repair or replace the short circuit to ground in harness between power seat control module connector and power seat motor connector.

  5. CHECK SLIDE SWITCH  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
    2. Check the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>Power Seat System>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  :

    Go to  6.

    No  :

    Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .

  6. CHECK HARNESS (SLIDE)  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector and slide motor connector.
    2. Using the tester, measure the resistance between the power seat switch connector and power seat control module.

      Connector & terminal 

      Slide forward 

      (R155) No. 6 - (R200) No. 5:

      Slide rearward 

      (R155) No. 7 - (R200) No. 6:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  :

    Go to  7.

    No  :

    Check power seat harness.

  7. CHECK TILT SWITCH  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
    2. Check the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>Power Seat System>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  :

    Go to  8.

    No  :

    Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .

  8. CHECK HARNESS (TILT)  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector and tilt motor connector.
    2. Using the tester, measure the resistance between the power seat switch connector and power seat control module.

      Connector & terminal 

      Tilt up 

      (R155) No. 5 - (R200) No. 14:

      Tilt down 

      (R155) No. 4 - (R200) No. 15:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  :

    Go to  9.

    No  :

    Check power seat harness.

  9. CHECK LIFTER SWITCH  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
    2. Check the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>Power Seat System>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  :

    Go to  10.

    No  :

    Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .

  10. CHECK HARNESS (LIFTER)  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector and lifter motor connector.
    2. Using the tester, measure the resistance between the power seat switch connector and power seat control module.

      Connector & terminal 

      Lifter up 

      (R155) No. 3 - (R200) No. 7:

      Lifter down 

      (R155) No. 2 - (R200) No. 4:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  :

    Go to  11.

    No  :

    Check power seat harness.

  11. CHECK RECLINING SWITCH  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
    2. Check the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>Power Seat System>INSPECTION>CHECK POWER SEAT SWITCH .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  :

    Go to  12.

    No  :

    Replace the power seat switch. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .

  12. CHECK HARNESS (RECLINING)  .
    1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector and reclining motor connector.
    2. Using the tester, measure the resistance between the power seat switch connector and power seat control module.

      Connector & terminal 

      Reclining forward 

      (R155) No. 8 - (R200) No. 3:

      Reclining backward 

      (R155) No. 9 - (R200) No. 8:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes  :

    Replace the power seat control module. Ref. to SEATS>POWER SEAT SYSTEM .

    No  :

    Check power seat harness.
