Diagnostic Procedure With Cancel Code: 14

Detected when the select lever is shifted to the neutral position, or when an error related to the neutral position switch occurs.

Trouble symptom: 

Cruise control cannot be set.

Wiring diagram:

1. CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH CIRCUIT  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
   2. Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector.
   3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   4. Measure the voltage between inhibitor switch connector and chassis ground.

   Connector and terminal 

   (T7) No. 6 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

   Is the voltage 10 V or more?

   Yes  : Go to  2 .

   No  : Check for open or short circuit in the harness between inhibitor switch connector and ECM.

2. CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH CIRCUIT  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
   2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
   3. Measure the resistance between inhibitor switch connector and ECM.

   Connector and terminal 

   (T7) No. 9 - (B134) No. 50:

   Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

   Yes  : Go to  3 .

   No  : Repair the harness.

3. PERFORM UNIT INSPECTION OF INHIBITOR SWITCH  .

   Remove and check the inhibitor switch. Ref. to CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM>INHIBITOR SWITCH .

   Is the inhibitor switch OK?

   Yes  : Replace the ECM. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) .

   No  : Replace the inhibitor switch. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>INHIBITOR SWITCH .
