User Recognition Does Not Begin

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to DRIVER MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
NOTE: Before performing diagnosis, check the following items.
  • Check that Driver Monitoring System is not OFF, temporarily stopped, or abnormal.
  • Check that the MFD user information linkage is ON.
  1. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Driver Monitor]. Ref. to DRIVER MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
    • DMS Recognition ON/OFF Status

    Does the data indicate ON?

    Yes:  Go to  4 .

    No:  Switch to ON and then perform registration.

  4. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Driver Monitor]. Ref. to DRIVER MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
      • DMS Recognition Status
    2. Sit on the driver's seat, and open and close the door to activate the user recognition.

      Does [DMS Recognition Status] indicate [Defined]?

      Yes:  Go to  5 .

      No:  Go to  6 .

  5. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Driver Monitor]. Ref. to DRIVER MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

    • Driver Side Door Status

    Does the display change according to the door open/close?

    Yes:  The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

    No:  Go to  6 .

  6. CHECK DOOR SWITCH  .

    Check the door switch. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM>INSPECTION>CHECK DOOR SWITCH .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  7 .

    No:  Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for the door switch.

  7. CHECK LAN SYSTEM  .

    Inspect LAN system. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  8 .

    No:  Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for the combination meter switch.

  8. CHECK DTC  .

    Read the DTC of [Driver Monitor] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to DRIVER MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)

    Yes:  Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to DRIVER MONITOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .

    No:  Replace the driver monitoring unit. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>DRIVER MONITORING UNIT .
