Outback Model

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the trim panel assembly rear gate LWR. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR GATE TRIM>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the garnish assembly rear gate. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR GATE GARNISH>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the light assembly finisher rear.
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Release the nuts and pins, then remove the light assembly finisher rear.

  5. Remove the cord assembly.
    1. Remove the gasket.
    2. Disconnect the connector. (Model with tail light)
    3. Remove the bulb socket and remove the cord assembly.
      NOTE: The illustration shows the model with tail light. For the model without tail light, perform the procedure by referring to the illustration below.
