Section 1 (Engine Starting System & Charging System (2.4L)): Starter: Installation

CAUTION:
- When replacing the starter, be sure to perform [Start count clearing] after the service. Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
- When replacing the starter, be sure to replace the fuel pump relay at the same time. Ref. to INSTALLATION .
- When replacing the starter, be sure to replace the ICR relay at the same time. Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DOTC)>INRUSH CURRENT REDUCTION RELAY .
- Install the starter.
Tightening torque: :
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
- Connect the connector (C) and terminal (B).
Tightening torque: :
11 N.m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.1 ft-lb)
- Connect the ground terminal (A).
Tightening torque: :
14 N.m (1.4 kgf-m, 10.3 ft-lb)
- Install the nuts on the lower side of the starter.
Tightening torque: :
50 N.m (5.1 kgf-m, 36.9 ft-lb)
- Install the CVTF cooler pipe. (Model with CVTF cooler (air cool))
Tightening torque: :
16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)
- Install the center exhaust pipe (rear). Ref. to CENTER EXHAUST PIPE (REAR) .
- Install the intercooler. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DOTC)>INTERCOOLER>INSTALLATION .
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
