Master Cylinder: Installation

  1. Replace the cylinder seal assembly of the master cylinder assembly with a new part.
  2. Use a new nut to install the master cylinder assembly.

    Tightening torque:  

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

  3. Turn and tighten the flare nut (b) by hand while pushing the pipe assembly front ABS (a) toward the master cylinder assembly.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to make scratches or other damage to the inside surface of the pipe assembly front ABS flare.

    Tightening torque:  

    19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

  4. Bleed air from the brake system. Ref. to BRAKE>Air Bleeding>PROCEDURE .
  5. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
