1st Generation Dual Motor: Disconnect
- Open the front trunk.
- If the vehicle is charging, remove the charge cable.
- On touchscreen, power off the climate control system, and wait at least 30 seconds for the climate control system to completely shut down.
- Make sure the vehicle is in Park.
- Fully lower all door windows to avoid glass shatter and door lockout conditions.
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install)

- Unlatch the driver's door and any door that might need to be opened during the service procedure.
- Turn off vehicle power from the touchscreen by touching Controls > E-brake & Power Off > Power off

- Disconnect the 12V battery ground connection (torque 5 N.m).

- Disconnect the first responder loop (X536). Do not cut the loop.

- Wait at least 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge.
