Fluids And Capacities: Fluids: Coolant

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2020 Tesla Model S, 2019 Tesla Model S, 2018 Tesla Model S, 2017 Tesla Model S, and 2016 Tesla Model S. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The cooling system contains an ethylene glycol (phosphate and nitrate free) based coolant.

For China only, please use the following coolant:

The overall concentration of ethylene glycol should not fall below 50% by volume to make sure that the anti-corrosion properties of the coolant are maintained.

Concentrations of ethylene glycol greater than 60% are not recommended as cooling efficiency will be impaired.

Tesla G-48 coolant is a pre-mixed 50/50 solution of ethylene glycol and water. The coolant is ready to use. Do not add water.

CAUTION: Tesla cannot provide warranties for any type of coolant other than Tesla G-48 coolant. Use of other coolants is at your own risk.
