Module - Body Controller - Security - Remove And Replace: Install

- Position the security body controller module into the vehicle, and then secure the clip and guide pin that attach the module to the vehicle.
- Install the bolt that attaches the security body controller module to the vehicle.
9 N.m (6.6 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T30 socket
- Connect the security body controller module electrical connector.
- Secure the clips (x4) that attach the front portion of headliner to the body.
- Install the screw that attaches the LH front of the headliner to the vehicle.
2 N.m (1.5 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket
- Position the LH upper A-pillar trim to the A-pillar, and then secure the clips (x6) that attach the trim to the vehicle.NOTE: Align the datums into the instrument panel sub assembly.NOTE: Rotate trim into position to full engage the clips.
- Install a new nut that attaches the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.
5 N.m (3.7 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Install the screw that attaches the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.
2.5 N.m (1.8 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket
- Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.
5 N.m (3.7 ft-lbs)
Tip:
Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
- Install the LH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
- Move the front passenger seat to the original position.
- Close the RH front door.
- Repeat step 5 through step 11 for the RH side of the vehicle.
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
- In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for "Service-Redeploy".
- Click SERVICE CAN REDEPLOY
, and then click Run
and allow the routine to complete.NOTE: Click the "X" at top right of window to close once complete.NOTE: The routine will state pass but the update will continue to run in the background.NOTE: The UI will show update progress.
- Touch the clock on the center display, or go to the Software tab, and then touch Install Now
to start firmware update.NOTE: Select Install Now. Tap the countdown timer until the clock runs down to 0. Check the center display and ensure the firmware package was successfully installed.
- Once firmware redeploy is complete, verify on the center display that the release notes are present.NOTE: If the redeploy fails you may receive an error message on the UI.
- Click the Actions tab, and then search for "VCSEC".
- For vehicles running firmware versions 2023.44 upto, but not including, 2024.8, select PROC_VCSEC_X_SET-ROOT-KEY-TO-ALL-REGIONS , and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
- Select PROC_VCSEC_X_POST-REPLACEMENT-PROCEDURE , and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.
- Select PROC_VCSEC_C_PAIR-NFC-CARD-V2 , and then click Run .
- Place the NFC card(s) on the console phone dock.
- Input the number of keys to be paired to the vehicle, and then click Run Network
, and allow the routine to complete.NOTE: Single or multiple keycards may be programmed.NOTE: Click the "X" at the top right of window to close once complete.
- Check the functionality of the programmed NFC keys.NOTE: Tap the driver side exterior B-pillar area to lock/unlock the vehicle and the center console phone dock to start the vehicle.
- Disconnect Toolbox 3 and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
- Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
- Inform the customer that the new security body controller will not recognize any previously paired phone key. The customer must delete and re-pair their phone key to the vehicle, if they were previously using this feature. Instructions are available in the Owners Manual, and at the DIY web pages.
