TIMING PROCEDURE

1981-87 4230cc Canada: Leave sub-diaphragm hose connected.

1981-87 1452cc, 1597cc 2V: Disconnect and plug vacuum retard hose only.

1981-87 2366cc: Leave all hoses connected.

Check Connector:

OLD STYLE TIMING CONNECTOR

NEW STYLE TIMING CONNECTOR

1981-90 All w/EST: EST can be identified by the absence of a vacuum advance unit on the distributor. Place a jumper wire between the check connector cavities T & E1.

All others: Disconnect and plug vacuum advance hose(s) at the distributor.
