Heater Core: Service and Repair

Fig. 6 Heater Duct Removal.:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain coolant from radiator.
3. Remove ash tray and rear heater duct, Fig. 6., if equipped.
4. Remove left hand air duct and under tray, if equipped.
5. Remove right hand side air duct and defroster duct.
6. Remove radio control knobs and finish plate.
7. Remove radio, then the heater control panel knobs.
8. Remove heater control panel cover, then disconnect blower motor indicator lamp electrical connector.

9. Remove heater control assembly Fig. 7..
10. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core assembly, then remove heater hose grommet.
11. Remove air ducts, then remove screws securing heater core assembly.
12. Remove heater core housing assembly from vehicle, then remove core from housing assembly.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
