Center Support And Components: Disassembly

  1. Withdraw sun gear from center support. Remove front one-way clutch from center support. Remove large snap ring holding brake "1" plates, then remove steel plate, lined plate and cushion plate.
  2. Compress spring retainer of brake "1". Remove small snap ring and slowly release compressor. Remove springs, then apply air pressure to remove piston. Remove No. 1 piston "O" rings.
  3. Turn center support over and remove large snap ring, steel plates and lined plates for brake "2". Using a spring compressor, compress spring seat of brake "2" and remove small snap ring. Slowly release pressure and remove spring seat with springs.
  4. Apply air pressure to center support brake "2" pressure port to remove piston. Remove No. 2 piston "O" rings. Remove 3 oil seal rings from center support. Remove one-way clutch assembly and oil seal rings from sun gear.
