Description & Operation: Introduction

The transaxle assembly is a 3-Speed unit consisting of an engine driven torque converter fitted to an oil pump which is coupled to the transaxle by a chain. The unit utilizes 2 clutches, 3 brakes, 2 planetary gear sets, a one-way clutch and a final drive assembly. Final drive assembly is directly below torque converter and connected to front of transmission. It consists of a housing, case, ring gear, pinion, side gears and pinion gears.
