Electronic Controlled Transmission (ECT)

Automatic transmission Camry models are equipped with an electronic control unit to control transmission operation. The ECU of the ECS provides signals on engine operation to the ECU of the ECT system. This information is used by the ECT computer to prevent shift up to 3rd gear or overdrive during cold engine operation.
