Fuel Cut Deceleration System

  1. Connect tachometer to engine. Gain access to ECU wire connectors. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Using a digital voltmeter, measure voltage between terminals No. 10 or No. 20 and +B with engine at idle speed. Voltage reading should be 0.1-0.2 volts.
  2. Increase engine speed to 3000 RPM. Rapidly decrease engine speed. Voltmeter should temporarily register 0 volts. Fuel cutoff RPM should be as specified in chart.
  3. If deceleration system is difficult to verify, check by performing road test. If accurate testing was performed and system does not operate properly, check throttle position sensor. Remove test equipment and replace ECU.
