Clutch Switch Circuit Test

  1. Turn ignition on. To test clutch switch, inspect for continuity between terminal 3 and ground. If none, check for open between them. If continuity exists, check computer by disconnecting connector and checking for continuity as follows:
  2. Inspect clutch switch circuit. Disconnect connector from computer. Depress clutch pedal. Check for continuity between terminal 1 (Celica, Cressida, Supra and Corolla FWD), 11 (Corolla RWD) or 14 (all others) of harness side of connector and body ground. If there is continuity, replace computer. If none, check for open in harness between terminal 2 of clutch switch and applicable terminal above. Inspect clutch switch.
