Progressive Power Steering Preliminary Checks

If steering is too hard at low speeds or too sensitive at high speeds, check the following first: tire pressure, lubrication of suspension and steering linkage, front end alignment, ball joints too tight or steering column is bent. Also check for loose or dirty electrical connections. Check power steering pump for low fluid level.
