Airflow Meter & Sensor Test

Turn ignition off. Unplug wiring connector from airflow meter. Note terminal identification. See Fig 2. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between specified terminals. Replace airflow meter if not within specification. See AIRFLOW METER RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS  table.

AIRFLOW METER RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

Measure Between Terminals: Resistance in Ohms Should Read:
E2-Vc 200-400
E1-Fc
Measuring Plate Fully Closed Infinity
Measuring Fully Plate Open 0
E2-Vs
Measuring Plate Fully Closed 200-600
Measuring Plate Fully Open 20-1200
E2-THA
-4°F (20°C) 10,000-20,000
32°F (0°C) 4000-7000
68°F (20°C) 2000-3000
104°F (40°C) 900-1300
140°F (60°C) 400-700
NOTE: On all models, air temperature sensor is tested as part of airflow meter.
