Cold Start Injector Time Switch Test

  1. Unplug cold start injector time switch connector. For cold start injector time switch location, refer to appropriate illustration in the appropriate THEORY/OPERATION article.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals "STA" & "STJ" at appropriate temperature. See Fig 1. See COLD START INJECTOR TIME SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS  table. There should be continuity between terminal "STA" and ground. Replace switch if not within specification.
NOTE: "STA" terminal is fed current from ignition switch during cranking. "STJ" goes to cold start injector.

22R-E 30-50 Below 50°F (10°C)
22R-E 70-90 Above 77°F (25°C)
22R-E 30-90 "STA" To Ground
3VZ-E 30-50 Below 50°F (10°C)
3VZ-E 70-90 Above 77°F (25°C)
3VZ-E 30-90 "STA" To Ground
