Throttle Position Switch: Tercel

  1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Connect positive voltmeter lead to throttle position switch terminal (Red/Yellow wire) and negative lead to ground. Voltmeter should read battery voltage.
  2. Slowly increase engine RPM until voltmeter indicates 0 Volts. At 0 Volts, engine RPM should be between 1200-1600 RPM. If RPM is not as specified, adjust throttle position switch. For throttle position switch adjustment procedure, see ADJUSTMENTS article in this section
