Primary Coil Resistance Test

  1. Disconnect ignition coil so it is isolated from remainder of system. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between coil positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. See Figure-24.
  2. If primary resistance is not within specification, replace ignition coil. See appropriate IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is within specification, proceed to SECONDARY COIL RESISTANCE TEST below.
