System Test (2.4L)

  1. Check hoses and tubes for cracks, kinks, damage, or loose connections. Check Pulse Air System (PAS) cold operating condition. See Fig 1.
  2. Ensure coolant temperature is less than 86°F (30°C). Start engine and set idle. Disconnect PAS vacuum hose from air cleaner. See Fig 2. Check for air bubbling noise from PAS vacuum hose.
  3. When engine temperature is greater than 104°F (40°C), air bubbling noise from PAS vacuum hose should not be heard. Race engine and quickly close throttle. Air bubbling noise from PAS vacuum hose should be heard and then momentarily stop.
