Ignition System: Distributor: Installation
- Install new "O" ring on distributor housing. Coat new "O" ring with oil. Turn crankshaft until No. 1 cylinder is in compression stroke and timing mark aligns with TDC mark on timing case cover.
- Position slit of exhaust camshaft as shown. See Fig 1. Align cutout marks of distributor coupling with line on distributor housing. See Fig 2.
- Insert distributor, aligning center of distributor flange with bolt hole on cylinder head. Install spark plug wires. Connect distributor wiring connector.
- Connect negative battery cable. Set ignition timing. Tighten distributor hold-down bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
