Ignition System: Distributor: Installation
- Coat NEW "O" ring with oil and install onto distributor housing. Align groove on distributor housing with protrusion on top of drive gear teeth. See Fig 1.
- Install distributor, aligning distributor flange mounting hole with bolt hole in cylinder head. Install and snug tighten distributor hold-down bolt. Connect distributor electrical connector.
- Install spark plug wires. Connect battery negative cable. Start engine and set ignition timing. Tighten distributor hold-down bolt. See appropriate TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article.
