Installation (2.4L)

  1. Install grommet and NEW "O" ring to each injector. Apply a light coat of gasoline, and install injectors to fuel rail. Verify injectors rotate smoothly. If injectors do not rotate smoothly, verify "O" rings are properly installed. Replace as required.
  2. Install insulators into injector holes on intake manifold. Position injector tips, with attached fuel rail, to insulators in manifold. Install and tighten fuel rail bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (19 N.m).
  3. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all nuts and bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE at the end of this article. Check for fuel leakage. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS.
