Removal & Installation (3.0L)

  1. Locate cold start injector near EGR valve. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect cold start injector connector. Slowly remove cold start injector pipe union bolt and 2 gaskets, using care not to spill fuel. Remove cold start injector and gasket.
  2. Install cold start injector with a NEW gasket. Apply Three-Bond Sealant (1324) or equivalent to 2 or 3 threads at bolt ends. Tighten bolts to 69 INCH lbs. (7.8 N.m). Install injector pipe, union bolt and 2 NEW gaskets. Tighten union bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 N.m). Connect cold start injector connector and negative battery cable. Check for fuel leakage.
