Fuel Injectors & Fuel Rails: Installation

  1. Apply light coat of gasoline to NEW "O" rings and install onto injectors. Ensure "O" rings are not twisted. Push each injector into fuel rail by hand. Verify injector connectors are positioned along center line of fuel rail. Install top insulator to each injector. Install injector covers.
  2. Install NEW injector tip insulators to fuel rail injectors. Install fuel rail assembly with mounting spacers to cylinder head. Tighten fuel rail mounting bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (19 N.m). Connect fuel rail inlet fuel pipe and tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Turn ignition on and check for fuel leaks. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS.
