Removal & Installation

  1. Remove right front passenger seat and scuff plate. Remove seat belt from floor panel. Remove jack holder. Remove floor service hole cover. Disconnect vacuum hose from pressure regulator. Release fuel pressure at fuel filter. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Remove fuel return hose from pressure regulator. Remove pressure regulator mounting bolts from fuel rail, and remove fuel rail.
  2. To install, apply light coat of gasoline to NEW "O" ring and install onto pressure regulator. Install pressure regulator to fuel rail. Verify regulator rotates smoothly. If pressure regulator does not rotate smoothly, verify "O" ring is correctly installed. Replace "O" ring if necessary.
  3. Tighten 2 mounting bolts to 48 INCH lbs. (5.4 N.m). Install fuel return hose and clamp. Connect vacuum hose. Check for fuel leakage. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS. Install floor service cover and jack cover. Tighten bolts to 125 INCH lbs. (14 N.m). Install front seat, and tighten bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 N.m). Install seat belt, and tighten bolts to 30 ft. lbs. (41 N.m)
