Fuel Injectors & Fuel Rails: Installation
- Install NEW grommets to each injector. Apply a light coat of gasoline, and install injectors to fuel rail. Verify injectors rotate smoothly. If injectors do not rotate smoothly, verify "O" rings are properly installed. Replace as required.
- Temporarily install bolts holding delivery pipe to cylinder head. Position injector connector upward, and again, ensure injectors rotate smoothly. Tighten bolts holding delivery pipe to cylinder head to 15 ft. lbs. (21 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all nuts and bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE at the end of this article. Check for fuel leakage. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS.
