Removal (3.0L)
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect distributor electrical connector. Using a screwdriver, lift up lock claw, and disconnect spark plug wire holder and spark plug wire from distributor cap.
- Turn crankshaft pulley clockwise until timing mark is aligned with "O" mark on oil pump cover, or set cylinder No. 1 to TDC of compression stroke. Remove bolts and distributor cap. Ensure distributor rotor points in direction shown. See Fig 1. Remove mounting bolts, and pull out distributor. Remove "O" ring from distributor housing and discard.
