Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Release fuel pressure at fuel filter. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Disconnect vacuum sensing hose from fuel pressure regulator. Position suitable container or shop towel under pressure regulator.
  2. Remove bolts and fuel pressure regulator. Remove "O" ring and discard. To install, reverse remove procedure. Apply light coat of gasoline to NEW "O" ring and install on pressure regulator. Tighten mounting bolts to 78 INCH lbs. (8.8 N.m). Check for fuel leakage. See CHECKING FOR FUEL LEAKS.
