Removal & Installation (2.7L)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove engine undercover. Loosen lock bolt, pivot bolt, nut and adjusting bolt of drive belt. Remove drive belt.
  2. Disconnect alternator electrical connector. Remove nut, and disconnect alternator wiring harness with clip. Remove lock bolt, pivot bolt, nut and alternator. Remove 3 bolts and alternator bracket. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove 2 bolts and crankshaft position sensor. Remove "O" ring and discard. To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply light coat of engine oil on a NEW "O" ring during installation. Tighten mounting bolts to 74 INCH lbs. (8.5 N.m).
